Sneh Rana was born on 18 February 1994 in Sinola, Dehradun, Uttarakhand. She belongs to a Rajput family and her father, Late Bhagwan Singh Rana, was a farmer. Her mother, Vimla Rana, is a homemaker and she has an elder sister, Ruchi Rana. Sneh was interested in cricket from a young age and used to play with boys in her locality. She also played badminton as a kid, but later switched to cricket as her passion. She attended Doon Valley Public School, Dehradun, and pursued her graduation from BBK DAV College for Women, Amritsar.
Domestic Career
Sneh Rana started playing cricket at the Little Master’s Academy, Dehradun, where she was trained by Narinder Shah and his wife Kiran Shah. She played for Uttarakhand and Haryana in the under-19 level before joining Punjab women’s team. She made her domestic debut in 2010 and soon became a regular member of the team. She also played for Railways women’s team and won several trophies with them. In February 2023, she was bought by Gujarat Giants for Rs 75 lakh in the inaugural WPL auction.
International Career
Sneh Rana made her international debut in 2014 against Sri Lanka in both ODI and T20 formats. She performed well in both the matches and impressed everyone with her all-round skills. However, she suffered a knee injury in 2016 that kept her out of action for five years. She underwent surgery and rehabilitation and worked hard to regain her fitness and form.
